Profile of Kato


Yuka Kato is a professor of mathematical sciences at Tokyo Woman's Christian University. She received her BSc degree in geophysics from the University of Tokyo, Japan in 1989, and her M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in Information Systems from the University of Electro-Communications, Japan in 1999 and 2002. She was with Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation and engaged in research on traffic control in ATM networks and interactive multimedia systems from 1989 to 1998. She was a research associate at the University of Electro-Communications from 2002 to 2006, an associate professor at Advanced Institute of Industrial Technology from 2006 to 2009, and a full professor at the same university from 2009 to 2014. Since 2014, she has been with TWCU. Her research interests include information networks, network robots and mathematical models for robotics. She is a member of Committee on Informatics, Science Council of Japan, and members of ACM, IEEE, Information Processing Society of Japan and the Robotics Society of Japan. 

1989年東京大学理学部卒業.同年日本電信電話(株)入社.2002年電気通信大学大学院情報システム学研究科博士後期課程修了.博士(工学).同年電気通信大学助手.2006年産業技術大学院大学准教授,2009年同教授.2014年より東京女子大学教授.情報ネットワーク,ネットワークロボット,ロボティクスのための数理モデル等に関する研究に従事.情報処理学会,日本ロボット学会,ACM,IEEE各会員.日本学術会議連携会員(情報学).
